Note: The two sons of King Charles III were each assigned a differenced version of the Royal Arms: in 2000 Prince William of Wales was assigned the Royal Arms differenced with a Label of three points Argent the centre point charged with an Escallop Gules; in 2002 Prince Henry of Wales was assigned the Royal Arms differenced with a Label of five points Argent the centre and two outer points charged with an Escallop Gules. In both cases the shield, supporters and crest are differenced with their respective labels, Prince William of Wales, as the eldest son of the Heir Apparent uses the same coronet, of four crosses pattée and four fleurs-de-lis alternately, as his father with the omission of the arch (this style of coronet is also used by the younger sons, brothers, daughters and sisters of the Sovereign). Prince Henry of Wales, as a grandchild of the Sovereign, uses a slightly different coronet which has two crosses pattée and two strawberry leaves alternating with four fleurs-de-lis. The use of the escallop is a departure from the normal crosses, anchors, roses, thistles, etc. which are used on labels borne by members of the Royal Family and are derived from the paternal arms of their mother, the late Diana, Princess of Wales
